halekulani wedding, nick + yuni

Nick & Yuni – Halekulani, Waikiki Beach. Yuni and her bridesmaids started the day getting ready in the 4,066 sq. ft Royal Suite. Newly renovated, the suite set the tone for the day with style, class and elegance. The late afternoon wedding ceremony was held in the garden courtyard, and we moved to the ballroom for cocktails and reception.

Halekulani remains one of my favorite locations for weddings.  Why? Yes, the property is picture perfect. But that’s not it.  The reason is the staff. From the minute our team walks onto property, the hotel’s staff (from the valet guys to the chefs) treat us like guests. Just imagine imagine how well they’ll take care of  you on your wedding day.

Thanks Nick and Yuni for a fantastic wedding!

hau terrace wedding

Where do foodies go for a wedding? Halekulani. Michelle and Colin married in the Garden Courtyard.  As soon as the “I do’s” were said, the party quickly moved to the Hau Terrace. Delectable pupus and fashionable drinks awaited their guests.

The resort chefs were outstanding. The couple was presented a ahi poke plate in the shape of a heart.  Sorry, if you’re not from Hawaii, you just won’t “get” it.  It’s all about our local love for raw fish… My favorite photo of the night was an idea requested by the bride.  She wanted a unique ring shot to show their passion for food.  I placed their rings in a dish of rare spices, and volia!  That’s what the evening was all about.

Charise and Franklin. Hawaii wedding photography at Halekulani.  Photos started at La Pietra School for Girls.  The school, just 10 minutes away from Waikiki makes a great location for wedding party photos.  Vine covered buildings and immaculate lawns make for picture perfect opportunities. We always recommend it a a good choice for 2nd location photos.

The wedding ceremony was held in the Halekulani Garden Courtyard.  Reception followed in the Ballroom.  Everything was, pretty in pink!
