Jake Shimabukuro TV commercials

February 11th, 2011

Did you guys see the Farmers Hawaii TV commercial “Clap” during the Superbowl?  We photographed Jake Shimabukuro on set during the filming.  The production was an all-nighter, from 8:00PM to 5:30AM at Aloha Tower.  Aside from the crazy schedule, it was a fun shoot, and we got some great photos.

“High Note” was another cool set to work on.  Actually, anytime we get to drop coconuts and bust up cars… it’s a good day!  Kari got a shot of me doing my best “Hulk smash” impression.  We just had way too much fun…  To see more of the photos we’ve been doing with Jake, look for the huge poster outside the Ward Theatres, or visit the Farmers Hawaii website.

Perfect in pink – the Royal Hawaiian

January 29th, 2011

Sayaka & Mack had a “perfect in pink” wedding at the Royal Hawaiian.  This fabulous NYC couple had an awesome afternoon ceremony on the Ocean Lawn.  An intimate dinner followed on the lanai of the the Kamehameha Suite.  Sayaka dressed in a champagne Romona Keveza gown with Chanel shoes and Harry Winston jewelry.  Mack came as is – with his charming personality and his crazy cool hair.

We had a great time walking around the resort taking photos.  They’re such a fun, easy-going couple…  It was nice that they set aside time before their reception to spend on photos.  The property is almost as photogenic as them!

After photos, we went upstairs to the Kam Suite.  The big hit of the evening was the ahi poke with avocado and snow crab.  After a round of dancing and toasts,  Sayaka & Mack cut into their “mini” wedding cakes by A Cake Life, and paired it with a cool strawberry sorbet.

UPDATE:  Sayaka & Mack’s wedding is now being featured on Delightfully Engaged, an online planning guide for wedding ideas and inspiration!
