A funny thing happened on the way to the wedding…

A week ago we were at Lanikuhonua, with Laura & Allen.  The sunset was amazing!  We were getting some awesome shots and  I “thought” it would be great to finish with a cool low angle photo, with the couple leaning against the rocks.  So – I did a limbo move, and leaned over a tidepool with only inches to spare between myself and the water.  Plop…  Out of my backpack falls a brand new Canon 35mm 1.4 lens.  Cost of lens?  $1600.  Getting the shot?  Priceless. =)

Yesterday we photographed Benji and Leilani at Magic Island.  We waited ’till after sunset for most of the photos.  The light was so soft and enveloping, almost like a fuzzy baby blanket.  =)  Can’t wait to see you guys at your wedding next weekend!

No detail was left undone.  From decorations and linens in ocean blue, the theme blended seamlessly into the Infinity Edge Pool and Waikiki beach.  The IONA contemporary dance theatre was on hand to create the mood for the evening.  Tree shaped dancers greeted guests walking through lighted fabric tunnels.  Other performers floated in the pool like exotic lilies, swaying in the cool breeze.  The evening was capped off with fireworks, and an after party at Rumfire.
